The Marshside Exhibition
Between 11am and 4pm.
This event, is hosted by North Meols Civic Society, will celebrate the history, culture, and heritage of the people of Marshside.
There will be displays stands by Stanley High Sports College, North Meols Family History Society, The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds Marshside Reserve, The Rimmer Family Society, Sefton Coast and Countryside Service, The Tithe Map of Marshside and the Marshside Calamity Fund.
The event will be opened by Marshside Brass Band who will include in their programme pieces by Southport’s, world famous Brass Bandmaster and Composer William Rimmer.
Children are invited to come along and see if they can find Marshside’s hidden treasure!!
The exhibition follows the talk held by the Civic Society, last October when over 200 people crammed into the hall resulting in the display stands having to be removed to make room.
There is no charge for admission. Refreshments will be available.

Family History Help Day
Our very own Family History event; we would appreciate support for this event; the Committee did a brilliant job last year and we hope to have an even bigger, better event in 2011 with several local Family History Societies already asking about booking tables!
Pop in with your problem - have a chat - see if we can solve it?
Several Lancashire-based family history societies will be attending in order to give assistance/advice, etc., with family history
Items for sale will include: Census Returns, Parish Records, BMDs, one-name extracts, etc.

Travel & Parking: Limited Parking at the venue Park and Ride from the Esplanade and get off at the end of Lord Street - the Church is just a few yards from the bus stop.

Is being held at Astley Hall, Chorley, Lancashire PR7 1NP; this is usually a really good event, so bring a picnic, wander around the hall and sort out your family history; the Research Centre is also open with internet/computer access.
