BUFORD EDISON RIMMER
Early in 2002 our Chairman Gladys asked,(through a Rimmer Forum) who she should speak to about organising a Rimmer Reunion and was told to contact Buford Edison Rimmer of Statesville, North Carolina; so she wrote to him and asked him and he responded with two words - Enjoy It!
Gladys has met Buford several times and has spoken to him on the telephone many, many times and he tells her that she inspires him - and Gladys always tells him that because of his untiring devotion to all things Rimmer he encourages her to continue the work for The Rimmer Family History Society.
It is because of his 50+ years as organiser of the Statesville Reunions, his devotion to his surname and his enthusiasm for all things Rimmer that led Gladys to ask the Committee if we could make him an Honorary Member - and we said 'yes'.
When Gladys presented Buford with his Rimmer FHS tie and Certificate he was overwhelmed and for the first time ever he was speechless - but not for long!
We are told by other North Carolinan Rimmers that he often boasts of his kin across the pond and that he thinks of us all often"
