The Rimmer Family History Society

RFH LogoThe Society was formed after two previous Rimmer Reunions held in the North West of England. It was at the 2004 Rimmer Reunion where The Rimmer Family History Society was founded, thanks to the initiative of our Chairman Gladys Rimmer Armstrong.

The Society publishes a quarterly magazine called 'The Rimmer Review' and holds an Annual Reunion (usually in October) for members of the Society and those interested in the Rimmer Surname. It also holds a growing collection of books, family trees and data associated with the Rimmer surname.

The Society uses the surname Rimmer but recognises that: Reamer ~ Rimer ~ Rhymer ~ Rumur ~ Rymer ~ Rymmer and Rymore are variants of the Rimmer surname.

OUR LOGO
Our Logo was chosen from a number of suggestions submitted to the Committee. Since Southport is generally accepted as the original home of all Rimmers and the 'Southport Shrimp' sculpture stands at the entrance to the pier on the promenade, it was felt fitting that the shrimp image should be incorporated in the logo. Many of our Rimmer ancestors made their living directly or indirectly from the shrimping industry.
