THE RIMMER REVIEW - Editor: Stuart Rimmer
VIEW FROM THE EDITOR...
Welcome to the September 2009 edition of the Rimmer Review. This issue is my fourth, and marks the end of my first year as editor. I have to say that it has been very enjoyable, and a privilege, to edit your magazine for you. This issue has been particularly satisfying as it contains a 'Rimmer Review exclusive' (see our Famous Rimmers section).
The thing that I like the most about the Rimmer Review is that which sets it apart from(and above, in my opinion) many other family history magazines. It is not just full of statistics, and dry historical articles (though there are a few of those on occasion - sorry!), but contains real stories and family memories of our members. This makes our magazine a living, breathing thing, recounting.the tales and exploits of real people, real Rimmers, which others can relate to and sometimes even link to their own family. Not many family history magazines can claim the same level of participation and content from its members.
This issue contains an intriguing story from member Julie Bedwell (see page 16). If anyone can help Julie in her quest, please get in touch with me or another committee member and we'll put you in touch with Julie.
So, if you have a family story tucked away in the back of your mind, and are wondering whether you should send it in or not - PLEASE do. Let's keep the Review alive, and I look forward to producing the best magazine I can during the coming year. See you at the Reunion.
Best wishes,
Stuart. .
